Denton-Guyer
John H. Guyer High School in Denton, Texas, established in 2005, has quickly built a reputation as one of the state’s premier athletic programs. Competing in UIL Class 6A, the Wildcats are best known for their powerhouse football team, winning state championships in 2012 and 2013 and reaching the finals in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2019, and 2021. In addition to football, Guyer’s athletic success extends to the court, with the boys’ basketball team claiming the school’s first-ever state championship in 2023 in a dramatic 48–47 victory over Katy Jordan. Backed by a passionate community and fueled by their signature black, silver, and blue, the Wildcats have cemented themselves as a Texas high school athletics powerhouse.
